WEST COAST SCALLOP FISHING
Canoe Brewpub approached us to create a video documenting the process behind fishing scallops for one of their top selling dishes, À la Minute Scallop Chowder. After a few canceled film days due to extreme weather conditions, we finally made it up to Campbell River to meet Joel and Melissa from West Coast Wild Scallops. A super friendly couple with a real passion for what they do. Hopping on their boat, Lisa Jess, we set off on the Strait of Georgia for a few hours of scallop fishing. Alex threw on his wetsuit and took our underwater housing to capture the scenes below the surface. It was some of the clearest water he’d ever seen. As dusk approached we headed back to Fisherman’s Wharf where Chef Kyle cooked up a storm with the freshly caught goods. It was delicious. We highly recommend ordering this dish next time you find yourself in Victoria, BC.
